Environment

As a Danish window manufacturer, we are naturally very conscious of our responsibility towards people, the environment and society, and for several years, climate and environmental considerations have characterised both our products and our production processes.

We take responsibility and have a mission to limit the negative environmental impact across production departments and for our operation

Our climate goals

We have joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), committing to reduce our carbon footprint in line with the Paris Agreement targets. SBTi is one of the world's most ambitious climate initiatives. It is a global organisation that helps companies set climate goals based on the latest climate research.

Therefore, as part of DOVISTA, we have had our targets validated by the Science Based Target initiatives (SBTi).

Among many other focus areas, we have a strong focus on Scope 3 (reducing emissions from our value chain), which is why our work with circularity is particularly important. Circularity means designing, producing and using products in a way that reuses resources and minimises waste. The goal is to create a circular economy where materials are given new life instead of ending up as waste, for example through reuse, repair and recycling.

Our memberships

We work hard to improve and take responsibility, which is why we are members of several networks where we share with other companies and make a more targeted effort.

Climate partner Hjørring

We are part of Klimapartner Hjørring, which is a partnership agreement between Hjørring Municipality and local companies and organisations.

The partnership agreements are an important part of the climate action plan and help create a network where knowledge and experience can be shared. Together, we must reach the municipality's ambitious goal, which exceeds the Paris Agreement with an 86% CO2 reduction in 2030.

Network for sustainable business development in Northern Denmark

We have a board position in the Network for Sustainable Business Development North Denmark (NBE), where companies working with the green transition can sign up and get inspiration on how to work with sustainability with economic, social and environmental benefits.

BR18 climate requirements - EPDs

We've created EPDs on our window profiles to visualise the environmental footprint of our windows and doors, and we're constantly working to ensure better results and a smaller footprint.

CLIMATE forest

In collaboration with Scanenergi, we have contributed to the planting of 193,000 trees in a project that started in 2022 and is still ongoing. The goal is to plant 4 new conservation forests, and with the 193,000 trees, the first two conservation forests have been planted.

We can proudly say that our contribution to the planting of the trees in 2024 is equivalent to our CO2 emissions from our electricity consumption for the whole of 2024. In 2025, we expect to continue in the same order of magnitude so that we can plant new trees that compensate for our annual CO2 emissions.

The purpose of the forests is for the trees to absorb, offset and compensate for the CO2 that Scanenergi's customers' businesses emit, while strengthening Danish biodiversity and ensuring green areas for future generations.

0waste - For a long time, we have wanted to reduce our paint waste percentage and thus our consumption, and we have now succeeded in finding a solution to reduce our consumption by approximately 30-40%.

Circularity

We are committed to increasing circularity at all stages of our production.

Our long-term ambition is to create a fully circular economy, where materials stay in circulation and are given new life - instead of ending up as waste.
